James was active in his church and the masonic lodge. He amazed Miss Hankins by passing all her tests. We were married from Jan1969-Jan1984. He retired from Conoco/La gas systems in 2007 due to bad health and moved back to Texas. He really enjoyed our grandchildren and daugters,making sure we each got equal visits most summers.He died in california where he was visiting our "newest" grandson by our youngest daughter and her husband.

BiographyMemorial services for James A Middleton, 56, of Avinger, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 9, at Alley Creek Park Pavilion on Lake of the Pines.
Mr. Middleton died January 28 in California. He was born June 17, 1951 in Vivian, LA. He lived and worked in Lake Charles, LA for over 25 years with Conoco Oil. He was an active member of AARP and a "Past Master" of the Mansfield Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by three daughters Kendra Michelle LeJune (Matt) of Springfield, MO, Felicia Bretz (Bill Long) of Miles, TX and Jamie Nichols (Jim) of California City, CA; his mother Irene Owens of Minden, LA: two brothers David Middleton of Avinger, TX and Paul Middleton of Arizona; six grandchildren Matthew Carter, Hannah Bourque, Marrisa Cook, Stephanie Bretz, Ian Nichols and Daniel Nichols.

We love and miss you Daddy although you are not here in the flesh I am comforted only by knowing You are here in spirit and that I will be with you again someday because death only causes us to say see you later not Good-Bye.
