THE PARIS NEWS, Nov. 24, 2000:  “Douglas W. Reid, 49, of Paris died at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at his home.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.  Mr. Reid was born June 18, 1951, in Paris to Daniel T. Reid Jr. and Polly Reed Reid.  He was a graduate of Paris High school and of Paris Junior College.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and 4wheeling.  He was the owner and operator of Reid’s Ranch Center through which he built a successful business of supplying pet food samples to over 40 countries worldwide.  He is survived by a son, Scott Biard and wife, Shannon, of Olathe, Kan.; a grandson, Tyler Scott Biard of Olathe; his brother, Dan T. Reid III of Nacogdoches; two sisters, Donna L. Ellis of Paris and Chi White of Beaumont; two nephews, Jason White of Beaumont and David Reid Ellis of Paris; two nieces, Jennifer Bryant and Brooke Reid, both of Paris; and his greatniece and greatnephew, Morgan and Ryder Bryant of Paris
