As a student, you probably thought every teacher was "old", but this one surely was. I was forty when I came to PHS in the spring of 1961 with senior students like Betty Joplin, Steve Weger, Paul Bryan, Allen Paul, Mark Thurman to name a few. Older folks to you! I only had two afternoon classes and last period study hall which every one hated . . . ready to go home... Since retirement, toooo busy to tell you. Lots of volunteering!

Remember a student body of 1250 students and controlled by only one principal, Mr. Cunningham with a whistle! Remember Mr. Weger standing on the third floor fire escape with a bull horn directing the band! Remember the windows that pulled out so we had natural "air conditioning" in that wonderful old building! Remember Mrs, Steifelman and her lab!
