THE PARIS NEWS, Oct. 07, 2007:  "Steven Holmes, 56, of Clute passed away at his home Friday, Oct. 5, 2007.  Funeral services are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Fambrough officiating assisted by Mike Folmar.  Burial follows at Providence Cemetery.  He was born Aug. 15, 1951, in Paris, the son of Redus Glee and Bessie Mae Kirtley Holmes.  A truck driver who loved recreational shooting at the gun range and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, he was a member of the Flag Lake Drive Church of Christ in Lake Jackson.  His father, Redus, and his grandparents preceded him in death.  He is survived by his mother, Bessie, and step-father, Leaman Hazleton of Clute; one daughter; Amy Holmes of Leesville, La.; one granddaughter, Selissa Madison Wood of Leesville La.; one sister, Teresa Fendley and husband, Jerod, of San Antonio; three step-brothers, Joseph Hazelton and wife, JoEllen, of Garland, Paul Hazelton and wife, Myland, of Lake Jackson and David Hazelton and wife, Linda, of Riverside, Calif.; one niece, Kimberly Fendley; and one nephew, Jeffery Fendley, both of San Antonio.
