Virginia Lee Musgrove Jessee, 86, of Paris died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at the Paris Skilled Nursing Facility.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Ken Cannon officiating. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

The family receives friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

She was born July 30, 1923, in Powderly to Bill and Mabell Sudduth Musgrove. She graduated from Cunningham schools and received her bachelor and master degrees from East Texas State University. She married William Frank "Cricket" Jessee Nov. 18, 1941. He died May 28, 1986. She taught Journalism, Speech and Drama at Paris High School and was employed by the PISD for 36 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marihelen Musgrove Phillips.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Jessee and husband, Joe Thurmon, of Lake Kiowa, Marylou Jessee and husband, Larry Barkau, of Dallas and Nancy Lee Jessee of Dallas; three granddaughters, Melissa McGee McKechnie and husband, Don, of Fort Worth, Molly McGee Pettit and husband, Chad, of Carrollton and Donna Jessee and her partner, Connie Horton, of Austin; three great-grandsons, Hayden McGee, Jackson McKechnie and Tyler Pettit; a sister, Billee Musgrove Smith of Paris; her brother, Johnny Musgrove and wife, Nelta, of Paris; a special friend, Jim Collier of Paris; and a close family friend whom she regarded as a son, Johnny Marshall of Mesquite.
