Martha Jo Bone

Martha Jo Bone, 65, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017. Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21st, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Martha Jo, the daughter of William Joseph “Bill” Bone & Martha Louise Landers Bone, was born Nov. 15, 1951, in Paris. She graduated from Paris High School in 1969, and received her 1969 yellow Rally Sport Convertible Camaro. Martha Jo was known for her yellow convertible! She then attended Paris Junior College and received her cosmetology license from the beauty school here in Paris. She had been active in the Jayceettes holding many officer positions and contributing to the community through various projects. She also enjoyed her monthly Bunco card group. Martha Jo worked a number of years at the Beauty Boutique on Collegiate Drive. Along with her sister, Claire, they ran the Crafts Shack downtown. Following that Martha Jo entered banking where she worked at area banks for more than thirty years. At the time of her retirement she was Vice-President of Patriot Bank in Honey Grove. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and loved to go on trips with them. She also was a huge part of her niece’s and nephew’s high school activities. Cooking and taking family trips were special times in her life. At one point Martha Jo was an avid fisherman. Martha Jo was completely dedicated to her parents and serving them. On Aug. 8, 2012, her mother, Martha Louise, passed away followed by her father, Bill, on Sept. 21, 2012. Her life was forever changed after these sad events. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. E. G. Landers, Sr. and Mr. & Mrs. William Bennie Bone and several aunts & uncles. Survivors include her daughter, Linsey Parson & husband Lonny of Direct, two grandsons, Jacob Glyn Parson and Joshua Lee Parson, two sisters, Claire Bone Anderson & husband Frank of Paris and Rachel Leigh Bone of Garland, a niece, Adrian Coco Anderson of Keller, a nephew, Josef Cawley Anderson of Houston along with previous mates, Danney Williamson and Mike Darnell, step-daughters, step-grandchildren, aunts & uncles, many cousins and a plethora of friends.
