--------------------------------------------------------

Our 50-Year Class Reunion is officially in the rear-view window.  More than 80 classmates and friends participated in some or all events over the 3-day weekend, Oct. 18-20, 2019.  Before leaving to resume our separate lives, we paused to remember our departed classmates in an reflective memorial service.

Here is the final participation count by event:

  • Friday pep rally: 12
  • Friday mixer at Fairgrounds: 42
  • Friday football game: 14
  • Saturday museum tour: 8
  • Saturday reunion at Heritage Hall: 76
  • Sunday memorial: 29
  • Sunday brunch: 27

Reunion photographs from the event have been posted to this website (use "50th Reunion Pictures" link on the left to access).  More will be added as they become available.  You can also see lots of pictures posted on our Facebook page at "PHS Class of '69".

You answered the call for donations to continue this website by contributing $735 towards our goal of $750 to ensure maintenance of this site for another five years.  We still encourage donations (use "Save Our Website Donations" link on the left).  Any residual funds may be used for future Class of 1969 communications, such as unexpected expenses or direct mailings for classmates who don't have email access.

Finally, an extra round of thanks is extended to our reunion committee (Mike Bowden, Cheryl Caldwell Brown, Lauren Murphy English, Eddie Fitzgerald, Joel Guest, Bobby Hargroves, Betsy Mills House, Larry Jordan, and Tim Taylor) for their time expended and in-kind donations of supplies and services which helped deliver this event under budget.

I am proud to be from Texas - where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter; summer starts in April; front porches are wide and words are long; macaroni and cheese is a vegetable; pecan pie is a staple; Y’all is the only proper pronoun; chicken is fried and biscuits come w/ gravy; everything is darlin' and someone is always getting their heart blessed.
